ABB Ber-Mac draws on decades of design, manufacturing, technician innovation
expertise to deliver complete end-to-end solutions for oil and gas field
operations. All of ABB Ber-Mac’s products are tailored to meet customers’
specific requirements.
Green Machine
The Green Machine is an environmentally-friendly, solar-powered operating
system for new and existing well sites. The Green Machine provides maximum cost
savings in hardware, maintenance, and fuel gas consumption compared to
traditional methods of well control and monitoring.
It also significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions over similar
conventional technologies, which will become even more important as new
climate-related regulations are implemented around the world.
In March 2007, for example, the Alberta government introduced the Climate
Change and Emissions Management Amendment Act (Bill 3), and the accompanying
Specified Gas Emitters Regulation. One key component of the legislation is
offering greenhouse gas credits and offsets to organizations that employ
actions and technologies to reduce emissions in their operations. The Green
Machine qualifies as such a technology.

Meter Proving
ABB Ber-Mac’s Meter Proving Services are executed by highly-skilled measurement
experts who combine professionalism, safety, detailed documentation, and
best-in-class equipment to deliver leading liquid calibration solutions. ABB
Ber-Mac’s technology suite, including the H2S scrubber, volumetric meter
proving, and portable bench calibrations, delivers accurate, reliable results
and minimizes costly meter downtime.
Balancing Safety and Performance
ABB Ber-Mac technicians keep safety at the forefront of all service offerings
and ensure that customer equipment operates at optimum performance. They
internally inspect each meter and the ‘Y’ strainer at the time of calibration,
and appropriately balance safety considerations and project requirements.
Volumetric Meter Proving
Our fully-equipped, winterized, and Measurement Canada-compliant volumetric
meter proving units enable calibrations on H2O, condensate and oil meters
year-round. ABB Ber-Mac is also equipped to perform calibrations on
high-pressure meters. To ensure accuracy, consistency, and safety of our
equipment, the company employs a strict maintenance schedule. Our vessel is
steamed and water is drawn every six months, and is certified every two years
in conjunction with Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) standards.
Portable Bench Calibrations
ABB Ber-Mac has developed a portable bench calibrator to perform accurate
liquid calibrations under two m3/ day on site. This innovative,
highly-efficient, and cost-saving solution eliminates travel time between shop
and site locations, and minimizes meter downtime. Detailed meter inspection and
calibration is performed on a same-day service basis.
H2S Scrubber
This equipment is used at all sour gas locations to provide safety and protect
the environment from hazardous emissions.
Wellsite Wet Meter Package
ABB Ber-Mac’s Wellsite Wet Meter Package is self-contained and portable. It
incorporates all the functionality of a traditional building-style metering
package into a compact enclosure. This reduces not only material costs but also
trucking, site installation materials, and labor costs. It also saves some of
our customers tens of thousands of dollars per year by completely eliminating
the need for costly building permits.
Durability and Performance
The Wellsite Wet Meter Package’s design is based on robust materials, such as
double-layered, insulated, 12-gauge steel to ensure durability through the
toughest weather conditions and site situations. It was developed in accordance
with ABB Ber-Mac’s technical principles and processes, which are ISO 9001
compliant, and is locally manufactured in ABB Ber-Mac’s Canadian Standards
Association (CSA) accredited facility. This combination of development and
manufacturing integrity ensures reliable, proven performance.
Comprehensive Services
The ABB Ber-Mac metering package is easily adapted to incorporate a customer’s
specified RTU, pumps, instrumentation, and design requirements. In addition to
package fabrication and assembly, ABB Ber-Mac also provides the following
wellhead metering services:
-
RTU programming
-
Host development and implementation
-
Radio path studies
-
Design and drafting
-
Field installation services, electrical, and instrumentation
-
Site startup assistance and commissioning
-
